Yas and ZTE Partner to Bring Affordable 5G Internet to More Tanzanians

Dar es Salaam, July 06, 2026

Yas Tanzania has partnered with ZTE to make high-speed 5G internet more accessible through a flexible financing solution designed for homes, businesses and institutions across the country.

The partnership was unveiled at the 50th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (Saba Saba) during a launch attended by content creators, influencers and digital innovators. Their participation reflected the growing demand for fast, reliable connectivity to power content creation, live streaming, entrepreneurship and everyday digital experiences, showcasing the possibilities of 5G in action.

As part of Yas’ Mtandao wa Viwango commitment, the partnership is another step towards making premium connectivity accessible to more Tanzanians. By combining nationwide 5G coverage with affordable device financing, Yas is enabling more customers to access, experience and enjoy the full benefits of Mtandao wa Viwango.

Customers can own a ZTE 5G Router with an initial payment of TZS 80,000, followed by TZS 80,000 per month for 12 months. Each monthly payment includes unlimited internet with speeds of up to 10 Mbps, making reliable connectivity more affordable than ever.

Speaking at the launch, Imelda Edward, Sales and Internet Devices Manager at Yas Tanzania, said the initiative reflects Yas’ commitment to expanding digital access across the country.

“Reliable internet is no longer a luxury. It is an essential tool that empowers entrepreneurs, supports learning, enables productivity and keeps families connected. Through our partnership with ZTE, we are making next-generation connectivity more accessible while helping to accelerate digital inclusion in Tanzania.”

Wen Jiahao of ZTE said the collaboration combines ZTE’s innovative 5G technology with Yas’ nationwide network to deliver fast, reliable and affordable internet solutions to more individuals, families and businesses.

The partnership reinforces Yas’ continued investment in expanding its 4G and 5G network while supporting Tanzania’s digital transformation. Through initiatives like this, Yas is helping more Tanzanians unlock the opportunities of the digital economy through Mtandao wa Viwango.
